The Activator Method is a low-force technique and is the most popular technique of its kind in contemporary chiropractic care. It was developed to restore correct balance and it uses specific adjustment systems that enable excellent comfort and safety. A handheld instrument delivers a concentrated impulse with the help of a spring-loaded mechanism. This impulse serves to correct any defective segments of the spine. Patients typically enjoy the Activator Method because they deliver the proper correction without the need for hands-on thrusting movements. Spinal adjustments with the Activator Method can eliminate muscle contraction because the adjustments are made more quickly than a manual adjustment, therefore, the body has no time to tighten up. This method offers quality adjustments with a less-powerful force since it does not overcompensate by tightening muscles in the surrounding area.
Applied Kinesiology is a comprehensive method that allows the treatment of underlying issues, as well as the more surface-level symptoms. Each muscle is connected to a specific acupuncture meridian and each bone is tied to an associated circuit. Even your emotions are connected to your organs and glands; all of these are included in this wiring web. For example, a problem with your adrenal gland could throw off the placement of your sartorius muscle, leading to a misalignment in, let’s say, your hip.
Using highly specialized muscle analysis techniques, Applied Kinesiology helps to examine and expose nerve function in your body. Using touch, body language and gentle pressure, we can use Applied Kinesiology to assess your condition. The body is an adept communicator through the feeling of its skin, subtle gradations in muscle tension, and concentrated beds of pressure points. Your gait and posture can even tell Dr. Anderson a great deal about your particular structural issues. The process used in this technique allows us to respond to your body as a complete system. Applied Kinesiology helps solve symptoms, as well as develop treatment programs to address underlying mental, physical & behavioral issues.

As an amalgam of approaches, the Diversified Technique targets both the musculoskeletal and nervous systems. We give our patients a thorough examination of the biomechanics of their body and integrate it with their health history. We can precisely realign the individual vertebrae of your spine with manual adjustments. The Diversified Technique uses high velocity, low amplitude thrusts on the neck, back or extremities and helps to restore function and a normal range of motion. No tools or instruments are used for the Diversified Technique.
Sacral Occipital Technique
Dr. Anderson receives a high degree of patient satisfaction by listening extremely closely to patient needs and concerns and staying up-to-date on any recent developments in chiropractic. We are especially familiar with the Sacro Occipital Technique. Dr. Major Bertrand DeJarnette invented the Sacro Occipital Technique in the 1930’s. Dr. DeJarnette was studying the tension in the membrane surrounding the spine — the spinal meningeal system — and how nervous system and vertebral issues may result from this tension. If the fluid enclosed by the meningeal covering flows irregularly to the brain and spine, the body compensates for this by physically adjusting. Your body’s adjustment can, in turn, stress your spine and compromise the effective action of your joints. Impaired fluid flow is easiest to see at certain bodily bottlenecks like points of attachment to the meningeal membrane as with the pelvis and cranium.
Our application of the Sacro Occipital Technique is intended to bring back the fluid flow your body requires to function by lowering the tension in the membrane. The Sacro Occipital Technique is a powerful yet gentle way to achieve this end. In fact, due to its inherent gentleness, the cranial and pelvic adjustments using the Sacro Occipital Technique encourage regular function and growth of infants and young children. It is important to make sure that the nervous system is functioning optimally from the beginning. It’s not uncommon for adult patients to begin treatment using Sacro Occipital Technique preemptively, before pain even starts. They understand how important it is to maintain a healthy nervous system.
